Plan updates

The Department of Planning (DOP) will be working with members of the schools and stakeholders in the neighborhoods around the schools to better understand their neighborhood experiences, concerns, and priorities.

Recent activities

  • October 12, 2023: DOP staff presented a revised version of the draft recommendations for community review. Community leaders from the Robert W. Coleman Community Organization and the Greater Mondawmin Coordinating Council participated to share feedback on the plan.
  • Between 2019 and 2021, the “Listen” phase of INSPIRE focused on gathering information about the planning area. In addition to working with community members, DOP staff begin to review existing neighborhood plans and history, and collect demographic data.
  • Robert W. Coleman Elementary School re-opened in September 2021. Find more information on the completed 21st Century Schools renovation and addition.
  • On April 24, 2025, the Baltimore City Plannign Commission approved the final draft of the Robert W. Coleman INSPIRE Plan for adoption. Please see the final draft here.
